In attendance: Pamela Grogan, Tammy Mangan, Louise Howard and Hazelmarie Byrne

We opened the meeting with discussing the upcoming events.

  1. Cake sale on the 14th of February all day. Pam has offered to do the poster for same. We decided to keep in the theme of Green schools by using paper bags for the goods and asking children to bring an extra lunch box for their purchases.
  2. Friday before St.Patricks Day we discussed doing a Cultural Day for the school asking children to wear native dress and not just green for St. Patrick’s Day.
  3. We discussed the Ester Egg Hunt and I explained that I was in touch with Super Value/Mulhalls and they asked to call into them and also Aldi and they said also to call in and fill out a request.  Pamela is going to ask the Laois Athletics for some left over ones also. A date for the Easter Egg Hunt will be the 1st of April.

We discussed other possible fundraisers that might work for the school and the school community.

Hazel discussed that Darach a teacher has approached the PTA asking for assistance in doing or organising a Bag Pack in tescos for funds for the shared school pitch.  We all agreed that we would help out.  I said I will go to tescos to try arrange it. Pamela said she would also approach Dunnes Stores with a view to doing one for the PTA also.

Pamela brought up a suggestion of a campus lotto and discussed how to start it and run it and what the licence fee for it would cost. €500.00.  We all said this might be a good idea to get up and running for September for the maintenance of the pitch.

We discussed that possibly in May we might run a coffee morning for a week each morning asking classes to perform and asking for donations for the parents.

Hazel suggested doing a cupcake making workshop/coffee morning.  Inviting parents and children to attending parents could have tea and coffee while the children decorate cupcakes.

We discussed doing a Christmas Fair in the school next December to raise funds.  And all Agreed that they would like to take part in organising this. Pamela suggested a Santa’s Grotto also.

Meeting ended at 10.00am
