Erasmus KA1 project-2019-2021

Erasmus+ is the European Union programme for education, training, youth and sport, 2014-2020. It provides funding and support for organisations to operate projects that encourage European exchange, co-operation and learning. Erasmus+ is funded by the European Union through the contributions of member states, including Ireland.

Our school was successful in procuring funding under this programme. We are interested in seeing how digital learning can improve language skills. Over the two years, 24 members of our staff will travel(over 4 trips) to schools in Poland, Spain and Iceland.

We will job shadow in these schools and will also host our receiving schools to Portlaoise Educate Togetehr over the project’s time!

October 2020 The first group visited both a junior and senior primary school on Vestmannaeyjar island. They were invited to observe classes and learn about the education system in Iceland.
February 2020-A delegation from our school visited a school in Algemesi. Valencia where we were warmly welcomed and encouraged to learn and ask questions about the Spanish education system.
